There are typically no upfront costs. Everything is handled at the end of the sale. We take our fees out of the total when the sale is completed. In the case of a hoarder style home or a large and unique project, the client may be asked for upfront fees to cover dumpsters, cleaning, and labor, etc.
Once a consultation has been completed and a contract has been signed, NEW ERA will begin quickly spending the days prior to the sale preparing and processing your estate. We conduct your estate sale by sorting and neatly organizing then staging all items to make them attractive to buyers. We take photographs for online marketing of the sale. Each and every piece of your estate will be priced to sell at current fair market value. We make sure to mark all items with a price tag or bundle price list. When needed, we will work with professional appraisers and experts. Robust advertising will be done using many online and local avenues to reach as many potential buyers as possible. We will bring all necessary supplies and equipment needed for your sale such as tables, cash register, display units, floor protection, lighting, and advertising signage. On the event days, we will completely manage the sale making sure to get the most value we can on the first day. Discounts are typically offered on the remaining days. We make our best efforts to sell every piece of the estate. At the end of the sale any items left over will be auctioned, donated, recycled, or sent to waste depending on our agreement. We also offer clean-up services that will leave the estate empty and broom swept. Payment is made to the client within one week following the completion of the sale.
We have over two decades of experience researching and valuating estate items, gathering current market values and reselling to the general public and collectors. We have conducted online auctions on several platforms for fifteen years. We have organized successful estate sales in both California and Missouri. As southern California natives we bought and sold storage units alongside the local famous bunch on TV known as Storage Wars. Our team has successfully collaborated together for many years which is why we have created this company out of passion for the art of reselling and passion to serve Springfield as our community.
Typical items sold include furniture, appliances, vintage and antique collectibles, jewelry, art, tools, games, electronics, music and musical instruments, toys, crafts, clothing, household items and decor, plants, lawn and garden equipment, and office inventory. We can also sell vehicles, boats, RV's, ATV's tractors, and other large items included in the estate.
The typical estate sale fee across the board is 35%-55% of the total sales. This does not usually include advertising or clean out services. NEW ERA'S commission fee is competitive depending on the extent of services provided. We offer a free consultation to discuss your needs. Payment is made to the client within 7 days of completion of the sale.
We currently accept cash, debit, credit, PayPal, and Zelle. All debit and credit transactions will incur an additional 3% fee.
The time it takes to organize an estate sale depends on the clients needs and the size and complexity of the estate. NEW ERA can typically organize and complete a sale within 1-4 weeks.
No it is not necessary to be present at the sale. We actually prefer family not to be present in most cases. We have found the sales to be more successful this way. In our experience the buyers do not like when family watch them go through items in the homes, and vice versa, family tends to be attached to items, may feel items have more sentimental value and can be reluctant to let items leave in the hands of buyers. We often have sales for family members that do not reside in the city or state. We are a trusted professional point of contact for your loved ones' estate.
Yes we do. We are able to provide a complete list of the items sold and how much they sold for. We use a professional mobile point of sale software register system. If any of your items are listed in online auctions, you will be given the information and be able to watch and follow the bidding process.
We can arrange to meet you at the site to provide a free consultation. We can work together to view the items and determine the best route to get the most value. Often an entire estate is being stored but you do not have a location to hold the sale, we can help with that. We can also list items in online auctions or at an auction house to get the largest group of potential interested buyers. We will offer you a competitive commission rate or a full offer on the unit or available inventory. We can also offer a clean out afterwards at your request.
